Dedicated to the memory of James Howson
This site is a tribute to a wonderful husband, dad, grandad, friend and farmer James Howson, a true gentleman who was born in Cumbria on November 03, 1947 and who sadly lost his life to dementia on Monday 31st August 2020.
Recognising that due to current restrictions we are unable to come together to celebrate the life of James in the way we would like, we have created this tribute as a platform for memories, thoughts, stories and pictures to be shared with our family. Donations are not expected however if you wish to contribute then we are supporting the work of Alzeimer’s Society.

Thinking of all the family - so sad to hear about James. I will remember him as a lovely man who was alway so patient with all our teenage antics! He will be very much missed xx Sending love to all, Sam & family (Millar)

Thinking of James, a good friend who always made us welcome. Remembering the country music concerts and family occasions. A generous man with a great knowledge of farming and the countryside. Our thoughts are with Delia and family.

A gentle and genuine man who adored his family. Completely out numbered in his household of 3 daughters I have memories of many sleep overs and YFC gatherings where James would observe our antics with a smile and perhaps a shake of the head. When I wanted to enter a YFC competition to build a dry stone wall James stepped in to show me his expertise. He was kind and patient and so skilled, I have never forgotten this and even now when I am stacking logs I always think back to that day.
